At SMUS my top 3 favorite subjects this term are:
1. social studies
2. science
3. music and art
And that is because I have projects in all of these subjects.
The social studies project is where we have to make a pioneer scene answering these questions:
- How did the physical environment help the pioneers? How did it make it hard for them?
- What technology did they have?
- How is your life the same as a pioneer? How is it different?
There are about 2 or 3 more, but I can’t remember them.
In science our project is to make a 3D skyscraper out of rolled up newspaper.
Our project in art is to take the basic shapes of the Taj Mahal and build a totally different structure.
Last but not least music.Our project is that the readers read a story and we are putting different sounds to it.
There are 5 different groups of instruments:
- Percussion
- Movement
- Sound effects
- The readers
- Barred instruments.
And that is the project subjects!!!

Sounds like a really great school! Also sounds like they keep you on your toes with these very interesting and hands-on projects! How did your 3-D skyscraper turn out? Any pictures of your version of the Taj Mahal?
